Every once in a while I get the urge to write my children a letter. Especially after I witness actions so sweet and innocent, or hear words that just bring so much laughter and joy. I want to share with my children how much happiness they’ve brought to me, while I was in the midst of raising them. I would love for them to read my words and know how much they’re loved by my husband, myself…and Jesus!
I wished my parents would have done this for me, so I’m hoping that this will be the start of a new family tradition, handed down generation to generation. My heart pretty much skipped a beat when I found these journals by Print Smitten that I’m about to share with you. I knew they would be perfect and would look so adorable once a collection had been created. How sweet of a gift would it be for my children to have words of wisdom to read at their leisure from “mom and dad”. I’m sure while growing up it might not mean that much, but I’m 32 and I know I would have cherished something like this to have handed down to me.
When I think of my children, I think of their futures and how possible anything is. I think of generations to come and what my family’s lineage will create with the decisions my husband and I make. When you think long and hard about those things, it really makes being a parent that much more serious. I realize that the littlest things do count and that they are so, so important! This is my way of cherishing every moment and sharing those moments with my children in the future and hopefully generations to come.
