If I’m honest with myself…I’m a pretty sedentary person. I dislike working out to a certain extent, but know I need it in my life. It gets my blood flowing, reduces stress and makes me feel more energetic. With two children, I cannot walk around with my feet dragging. When my children are older, I want them to remember how fun I was and how I had the energy to play with them.
Tbh…I feel like crap. Probably the crappiest I’ve ever felt. Don’t get me wrong, I have great self esteem and feel very positive about my body image. But unfortunately the way I think about my body, does NOT match up to how I feel. I’m tired, I feel bloated, my face has been breaking out like the game Mindsweeper. (totally just showed my age with that one!). I’m soar and most of all, I have so much trouble keeping up with my kids. Something has to change and I’m the only one that can initiate that change. Below are just two tiny steps that I’ve taken so far that have helped me feel better from the inside out. Their no brainer steps, but I knew I needed a reminder in these areas and maybe you do too? We sometime forget that the smallest of changes can have the biggest impact in our lives.
I’m just going to start with the easiest step. Water. In past 3 days I’ve drank more water than an entire month combine. Okay, I’m exaggerating, but it’s only 11am and I’ve already had 56oz of water and right now I’m on my next 16 oz. I’ve already seen a change in my skin! It’s softer, smoother and I can already tell my face is trying so desperately to clear up. I just make sure to have a 16oz water bottle next to me at all times. To make it easier, you could download an app to help you track your water intake. I also make sure to add lemon to my water to give it a nice lemony taste! Water is soooo “importante”…but we ALL know this!
The second step I’ve taken, is to start small in the meal department. I’ve made very small changes the past four days that are going to add up in a big way. I’ve picked one meal, like breakfast, and have replaced it with something healthy. Instead of eggs, cheese, salsa and cinnamon raisin toast smothered in butter. I’ve replaced breakfast with two eggs, some diced onions and red pepper to make an omelet and added half an avocado. The smaller the change when something can overwhelm you, the better! Just pick one meal this entire week to replace with something healthy.
I’ve started off with small changes because that’s what I’m doing. I’m not a pro, just someone who is wanting to make better choices and feel good about those choices. I promise you, that if you do the same you will start to feel better physically and mentally!
